Original Dress

Created in 2004, Revamped in 2008

Mid-16th c. English high necked gown, based on an illustration in Tudor Costume & Fashion (and fleshed out with research). Made of red silk taffeta, lined in cotton. Revision consisted of splitting the skirt seam up the front and adding a black & gold damask petticoat and a white silk organza partlet and ruffs, edged in gold lace to give an Italianate feel.
