English Loose Gown, c. 1570 (in progress)

This is an unfinished piece, based loosely (heh) on several examples of loose gowns worn over fitted gowns, such as this one of Queen Elizabeth I, c. 1565-70. I've been needing a warm garment for those cold events, therefore the gown is lined in heavy coatweight fulled wool. The outter fabric is a natural linen ground with a black chenile damask pattern. It is currently lacking sleeves, but is wearable without them and is still quite warm!
