Black Wool Gown, c. 1570
A front fastening high necked bodice with attached skirt in black wool flannel, lined in natural linen. Can be worn over various kirtles with the front unfastened to show the kirtle bodice, or worn over a petticoat and corset. Sleeves are elbow length and slashed, with white linen pulled through the slashes.
