Black Wool Elizabethan Gown c. 1570
A simple, front opening low-necked gown in black wool flannel, lined in pink linen (the sleeve cuff turnbacks are lined in pink silk taffeta), worn with a pale yellow silk damask petticoat. Silk taffeta wrist ruffs are basted to the sleeves. The white linen partlet & ruff is worn open. The hat is by Truly Carmichael and is worn over a gold strapwork coif.
