Chemise Post #20: A trip down memory lane

I have this vague recollection of 2007 being the Year of the Chemise Gown in my costuming circles. I think it started off with Katherine, who spontaneously decided that she had to have one, and then others rapidly followed suit. Yeah, costumers are kind of sheep like that. ;)

At the time, I remember thinking “Why on earth would you want to wear a boring white cotton dress?” Well, seeing Katherine and my other friends at Costume College the following year changed my mind.

It really was a magical see all those chemise gowns flowing in the breeze.

  2. I remember seeing all these gowns in photos and changing my mind about wanting one too!

Hi Sarah! I totally remember these pictures (one of the best days). Just a slight correction: I’m Kat (you have me labeled as Samantha next to Jenny Rose). It’s like you knew that I wanted to like my American Girls Doll, Samantha when I was growing up! No worries. I have a few more pictures from this day (including one with the both of us at tea) if you would like them. As always, you’re an inspiration as well as being made of awesome.

Feel the love
